New After School Activities Program at Riverview
We are offering a new after-school activities program for students at Riverview Middle School.
The After School Activities Program (ASAP), which runs from 2:45 to 5:15 p.m. each school day, is organized and supervised by adults.
ASAP includes an hour and fifteen minutes of personal development, including kickball, computer keyboarding, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, card making, woodworking, cooking and fun with arts.
These activities will be followed by an hour and a half of study time, book reading, computer time and/or board games. The program is designed to help children transition into more responsible young adults.
The first session will run from Sept. 1 to Dec. 23. Cost is $115 for the 15-week session. A free trial is being offered from Sept. 1 to 10.
Those not interested in the full session can purchase individual personal development activities a la carte. Kickball, 3-on-3 basketball and keyboarding are $10 per activity; art, woodworking, scrapbooking and cooking are $20 per activity. Most activities will last three or four sessions.
