Adult Woodworking This class is open to beginning and continuing woodworkers. Instruction includes safe and proper use of wood working equipment, including the circular saw (ripping, cross cutting, and miter), jointer, thickness planer, band was, and radial arm saw. Demonstration will occur as needed. Beginners
will have a specific project selected by the instructor; continuing woodworkers will select their own project with guidance from the instructor.
Limited enrollment.
Christmas Card Basket Class for beginner basket weavers. Must be in high school to attend. Participants will create a 8x12x3in basket decorated
with a handle and dyed reeds and bells. Taught by an expert basket weaver.
Crochet Crochet is the fun portable skill and hobby that has captured the interest of all ages. Learn the basic stitches, common variations, reading a pattern,
and more.
Bring to the first class: size 8 (H) crochet hook, a ball of plain-colored cotton worsted weight yarn, (i.e. Sugar ‘n Cream), a 3-ring binder and a pen.
Fun with Astronomy Come join the fun of observing the moon, its craters and Mares (Seas) learning where the Apollo missions landed, hearing about current NASA missions to Saturday and Mars. Learn how to find and identify the major stars and constellations. There is much to observe in the night sky: Globular
Clusters, Nebula’s and this class will help you learn what is out there. You will learn how to use a telescope and planisphere to find your way around the sky. This class is for the young and old. Anyone 10 years and older can register. Fee includes planisphere.
Knitting Add knitting to your skills and discover what a delightful hobby it is. It’s fun, portable, creative, and useful. you will learn the two basic stitches, common variations, increasing, decreasing, reading a pattern, and more.
Bring to the first class: a pair of #8 needles (10 inches long), a ball of plain-colored cotton worsted weight yarn, (i.e. Sugar ‘n Cream), a 3-ring binder and a pen.
Learn the Art of Woodcarving Woodcarving is becoming a very popular hobby and we are glad to offer this opportunity to learn this fascinating pastime. A beginner’s material fee, not to exceed $20 will be collected at the first class. All students bring a pencil and a few band-aids. Bring a hand palm gouge and a carving
knife.
Quilting This class will focus on making a Christmas tree skirt, folded fabric pillow, and a wallhanging, or bring your unfinished project to work on. Class requirements/materials will be sent out after registration.
Spanish for Kids This fun and lively class will give your children a headstart on Spanish. The class focuses on numbers, alphabet, colors, shapes, days of week, months of year, family, animals, using art, music, literature, movement, introductory phrases, telling time, and drama.
Square Dance Lessons Looking for a way to exercise that is lots of fun? You are invited to a free square dance lesson! We dance to all types of music- it’s not the old hoedown
music you remember from gym class! For those who are interested, lessons will be arranged to fit the needs of the group. Sponsored by the Kettle Squares square dance club. Casual dress, all ages.
Ongoing square dancing is the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month in the PHS Cafeteria.

Versatility with Holiday Dips
Learn to use some of the same base products to create interesting holiday appetizers and dips. Class time includes tasting time and the shareing of recipes. It is permitted to take either one or both of the classes.
